Chilly Night Run

Fountains off and flags down because of the wind. Pretty cold here today. 

I ran/walked all around campus tonight, even to some places I hadn't been to yet. As I was finishing up I ran back to my dorm to find people filing out because of a fire alarm. I ran a little longer than expected. =)

Green Street Baptist Church

Today I visited Green Street Baptist Church. Much bigger church. I'm not certain about it, but I'll probably go at least one more week to explore. Several HPU students were there!

Ran 2 miles tonight around the track...marked laps with a highlighter! 

Work Call

Another mandatory 9am work call today! This time I knew where to go so I was there early =D. One of our jobs today was to paint the insides and outsides of 500 halved styrofoam cups bright orange. So that makes 1,000 shingle tiles ready to go!

History Book

Starting a new book for history class. This one's about Deborah Sampson, a woman who joined the Revolutionary War disguised as a man. 

Charcoal Pony

Tonight I went to the comedy show put on by the student improvisation group, Charcoal Pony. Hilarious!

Drawings

No pictures for Sunday or Monday. I went to church, packed up, and left for HPU a little after 3pm. I arrived around 11pm. On Monday I was so tired I took a nap between classes...ready for 2 more months of this semester! 

Today I hung up the pictures that Bethany gave me! 

Renaissance Festival

After the festival we picked up Riley and a DQ ice cream cake and took it back to Skyeler's house to celebrate her upcoming 18th birthday. We attacked it maliciously with forks. I believe we won. 

Family and Friends

Look who stopped by! My first cousin once removed, daughter of my cousin Rick. This is the first time I got to officially meet Zoe! 

Tonight after the missions conference Calleigh and Skyeler came over for a sleepover! 

Mommy

No picture again today. Today I went and had lunch and a little bit of shopping with my amazing mom. So great to spend time with her <3. After that I went to take a milkshake to Daniel because he had his wisdom teeth removed this morning.

Busy Day

Today Zack came over to hang out with Elizabeth all day. We went to see Romeo and Juliet performed by the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company with Sara and the Syreks. Excellent!

Following the performance we went to see Sara's parents' new baby alpaca. So cute!

After that I went to pick up Daniel from Cedarville and went to dinner at Subway with his parents and uncle. Then we went back to my church for the mission conference.

Oops...

Fall break has made me lazy! I don't have any pictures for several days, even though I did some pretty fun stuff!
On Sunday I went to church and got to see all of my amazing church family. After church I went and hung out at Daniel's house for a while before going back to church to see the Stanton's as they helped kick off our missions conference. Then we went out to dinner with them and heard lots of stories!
On Monday Mom, Elizabeth, and I went to co-op followed by shopping at the outlet mall. Fun!
On Tuesday I went to Cedarville University to see Daniel and all my other PEACH friends.

Haunt

I can't believe we didn't take any pictures, but we went to Kings Island today! 

Sara, Riley, Daniel, and I went earlier on and rode a ride before Lewis and Elizabeth showed up. Sara left before Haunt started and we met Sam and his girlfriend a little later. It was fun!

Raking leaves is probably my favorite form of outdoor work...especially when it takes hours! Never too old to jump in leaf piles! =)

Coldstone with Calleigh this afternoon! I got salted caramel and she got cheesecake ice cream. 

Risk with the family (no comment on who won, just make sure NOT to ask Lewis). Mom was here too, but she always manages to not be in the pictures. 

Going Home Early

After a few complications with locking myself out of my dorm room at 5am while trying to load up my car (that poor security guard haha), I was heading out of campus in the not-yet-light hours of the morning. 

Arrived at home around 12:45pm. Mom and I ran to Kohl's... Halloween is definitely coming! 

Voting for the first time ever! (Using an absentee ballot.)

Perfect Weather

The weather this morning was perfect: fall chilliness but with beautiful sunshine. Today my history class met in the communications building because we watched a movie and he wanted a room with a better movie-watching set up. This morning I jumped out of bed at 7:44am panicking, and managed to be in my 8am class by 7:55. I had to wait for breakfast until after but was quite impressed with myself, lol. 

After the final production of The Laramie Project we tore down the set, the risers, etc. The mulch/dirt we threw on the floor for the set was very dusty as we swept it up and everybody was coughing. The play ended at 10:15 and we worked until midnight. 

The Laramie Project

Tonight I went to see the play The Laramie Project, both for entertainment and as a requirement for a class. This is a very somber play about a young man (Matthew Shepherd, age 21) in Laramie, Wyoming who was robbed, beaten, tortured, and murdered because he was gay. 

Hey I helped set this stage up! 

They had added in risers and chairs (this pictures half of the audience area). It's a very very small theater which provided the intimacy that a production of this nature required. 

Pumpkin Scones Make Rainy Mondays Better

Yucky day today...lower temperatures than in Ohio today! 

Today I had a meeting with an adviser in the communications building. This building has awesome technology! 

Yay for pumpkin scones! 

A New Week

Sunday morning. My Sunday school teachers feel God calling them to a church in the nearby town of Greensboro. This couple was really the main reason I've continued attending Conrad, so I'm considering exploring some nearby churches that have more HPU students attending. 

2 miles in less than 20 minutes!

1924 Prime Steakhouse

Tonight Angel and I went to the the steakhouse for the first time! It was great and the food was amazing! The 5 course meal consisted of:

1) An interesting kabob that had a fried pickle and a piece of fresh soft pretzel. Surprisingly good! 

2) Pieces of bread to dip in olive oil

3) Potato croquettes -- yum! 

4) Filet mignon. Cooked perfectly! 

5) Warm brownie with vanilla ice cream and a raspberry (...and a mint leaf...no comment...)

No cellphone use allowed, so I don't have any pictures of the inside. Can't wait to go back!

Hi, this is Victoria and I'm calling with High Point University's Research Survey Center...

People are beginning to decorate the halls and dorms for Halloween... 

Tonight was my second day working at the job I trained for at the research survey center. I'm going to develop some sort of emotional scarring due to all the people who don't want to talk to me... ;)
