It's Finally Over!!!

Went to Green Street Baptist Church again this morning. Christmas decorations!

After the final curtain calls this afternoon (matinée showing). It's over!

Cast and crew cut up the show drop for souvenirs.

We tore apart all the set pieces at the theater, loaded them onto the truck, and then unloaded them at the shop. Here is a final shot of the roof I put so much time in. It hurts.

Celebrating the end of the show with a peppermint hot chocolate and I think what is now my favorite candy bar. That thing is amazing.

Pizza Party

After the show tonight four of the other crew girls and I ordered pizza and hung out by one of the fireplaces near the bakery. It was fun to just chill and chat =)

Garland and Bows

Just a picture taken on my way back to my dorm from theater. With the Christmas decorations up the School of Communication looked really pretty =)

Pentateuch Class Project

Today I met with my partner for my religion class presentation at the library. Our presentation is on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year celebration. The first mention of this holiday is in Leviticus, and then again in Numbers, so we pulled down all the commentaries and made copies of the notes on those verses. It should be an interesting project!

This commentary is awesome because it has both English and Hebrew in it, and reads backwards. The English on each individual page obviously still reads left to right, but you turn the pages in the direction from right to left. Pretty cool!

(Not pictured: more theater rehearsal tonight!)

Clothes Doth Proclaim the Man

Somebody gave Beethoven a flower today =)

Tonight was our first dress rehearsal, which meant that all the crew had to be in black. I feel like such a creeper walking across campus!

Kate rejecting Petruchio. I will be so glad to have these songs out of my head!

Church

Finishing theater cue by cues early last night meant that our call for Sunday morning was cancelled (we still had to go in the evening) and I could go to church! The way Greenstreet Baptist Church is set up is sort of like a courtyard surrounded by connected building. This is one side.

And here's another side.

Today they had a baby dedication service where several families dedicated their children to God =)

Behind the Curtain...

Running more Kiss Me, Kate cue by cues today...that pretty much means running the scene for a few minutes, holding while the directors figure out and write down all the technical stuff that needs to happen (lights, sound, set), and then going back and re-running before inching forward to the next few minutes. Very long and tedious work...today we were in the theater from 9am until 8pm with lunch and dinner breaks. We originally thought it would go until 10pm, so we were happy!

Blood, Sweat, and Tears...Minus the Tears

More Christmas decorations =)

As a fundraiser to send money to the victims of Sandy, students or staff could come pay to cram whip cream into each other's faces! Looked fun!

Tonight while working the fly system at theater (which runs the curtains, drops, and some scenery in and out of the ceiling), I not only got some pretty good rope burns and a scrape that bled, I also jammed my pinkie pretty badly! Pretty colors...

Rehearsal

I wish to apologize in advance if over the next week or so a lot of my pictures are of theater things. The production of "Kiss Me, Kate" is coming up very soon and I will have a lot of work calls...

Tonight I attended a rehearsal. Since it wasn't mandatory for me, I didn't have to do a lot, and it was nice to just watch the production. This is the final number.

Election Day

As so many of the flowers die, they planted a few pansies to brighten things up =)

Today I put next semester's schedule in my class and homework app.

Watched the election progress tonight. Oh boy...

Kittens on Kampus

I saw Campus Enhancement changing out the banners this morning.

I met up with some friends after class and we played a card game in the Slane Student Center. After a somewhat random set of circumstances we ended up in the back of the post office holding four kittens...awesomeness for a Monday!

So the ice cream truck had brownies instead of ice cream today! Perfect!

More Theater...

Work call this morning from 9am-1:15pm. They installed the balcony to the front of Baptista's house...it looks awesome!

Theater Load-In

The front plastic part of my ring fell off today! Now it looks like a solid black heart...does that mean I'm always in a bad mood now? o.O

Theater load-in this afternoon for Kiss Me, Kate. It lasted from 3pm-10:20pm with an hour dinner break.. Long day.

The roof up on the top of its building! =)

Beautiful Cold Morning

I don't like having to get up for my 8am class, but once I'm out in the morning it's not so bad. Pretty clouds today. =)

...it also helps that the kiosks had hot chocolate this morning! =D

Meet the Author

This evening I had to attend a lecture/poetry reading for my literature class. Dr. Laura Tohe is a Native American (Diné, or what we know as Navajo) and we had just finished reading her collection of poems, No Parole Today, for class. This event was arranged by my professor, so five other students and I had the additional opportunity of meeting with Dr. Tohe for lunch!

I registered for classes tonight! Next semester I'll be taking...
Finite Mathematics
Honors Economics: Free Enterprise/Capitalism
Philosophy: Social Ethics
PE: Social Dance
First Year Seminar: Jesus and Gender
...Should be an interesting semester!

Chilly Night Run

Fountains off and flags down because of the wind. Pretty cold here today.

I ran/walked all around campus tonight, even to some places I hadn't been to yet. As I was finishing up I ran back to my dorm to find people filing out because of a fire alarm. I ran a little longer than expected. =)

Green Street Baptist Church

Today I visited Green Street Baptist Church. Much bigger church. I'm not certain about it, but I'll probably go at least one more week to explore. Several HPU students were there!

Ran 2 miles tonight around the track...marked laps with a highlighter!
